What is Prayer?
What is Prayer
To pray with all supplication and humility is when believers humble ourselves before God. Where we bring our praise, honor and requests before God, in Jesus’ name. Prayers can be for ourselves, family or others. The word “supplication” comes from the Latin word “to plead humbly.” John 14:6
How Does Prayer Affect Me?
Prayer can bring a believer into alignment with God’s Will. In order to pray effectively one must have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Jesus The Christ is the only one true mediator between mankind and God. “Mediator” means someone who reconciles a relationship. 1 Timothy 2:5.
How Does Prayer Affect Others?
The Holy Bible is littered with examples from Genesis to Revelation of how prayer heals a person on a spiritual, psychological and cellular level. Prayer is a Godly gift, a way through for mankind to communicate with God. Seek peace in a tumultuous world. Bring understanding through chaos or crisis. Prayer offers hope where there is none.
Individual Prayer & The Bible
In order to be an effective prayer warrior one must develop and entire arsenal of weapons. The more you are equipped - spiritually - the more effective your prayers/intercession will be. The Word of God is always your sword of the Spirit. Through the Word, God can speak to you and guide you on His path and purpose.
Corporate Prayer
Corporate prayer is an army of intercessors and prayer warriors coming together, in agreement, in a strategic manner. An analogy would be to look at a problem or issue that exists, as a brick wall. Each brick is a principality or power that makes up that wall. For instance fear, defiance, anxiety etc. Each intercessor would pick their own brick and pray into that area until the ‘wall’ comes tumbling down!
Praying in Tongues
Baptism in the Holy Spirit is recognizable as it always comes with speaking in tongues. This unique and beautiful outpouring is man’s direct communication with God - spirit to Spirit. 1 Corinthians states this: “For someone speaking in a tongue is not speaking to people but to God, because no one can understand, since he is uttering mysteries in the power of the Spirit.”
